Samantha Jordan
sam Samantha started with us in late 2007 for work experience but we soon asked her to come on board part time.

She comes from Daylesford and brings with her a very organised approach to things! She is currently studying an Advanced Diploma of Public Relations at RMIT and works with us when she isn’t at Uni.





Jules Brooke
jules Jules spent ten years in advertising sales (press) before moving into the graphic design industry where she was a partner in a successful design company before going on to hold senior management positions in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) and in London. Whilst in London she was a freelance Account Director for four years, working for a number of advertising, design, marketing and sales promotion companies. She continued in these industries until she set up Handle Communications.

Jules set up the business in mid 2003 and created a partnership with Simone in 2005. She also has a range of envelopes that she launched in 2006 which are available at Officeworks. Jules is very entrepreneurial, has a large network of contacts in various industries and has a ‘can do’ attitude. These factors combined with a strategic ability to look at ‘the bigger picture’ get results.

Jules has a passion and enthusiasm that is hard to contain! As well as the business and the product release, Jules is the mother of three young sons.

Simone Heydon
simone After completing a Marketing Degree in 1992, Simone worked for advertising agency DDB Needham/K&Z Marketing for four years specialising in promotions, sampling campaigns and event management.



Simone went on to work at Communicado Marketing Communications as a Business Manager. It was here that she was introduced to the world of public relations and sales promotion, working for many blue chip clients.



Simone is a Director and equal partner at Handle Communications. She works across all clients and facets of the business. Her calm nature and focused approach gets great results for our clients.

Simone is also the mother of two young boys.

David Coghlan
david David has been employed in Hospitality Management for over 20 years. He has lived and worked in Italy, the UK and Northern Ireland. Some of his creative highlights include 1997 Melbourne Comedy Festival, We Want the Crossing (a BBC six part kids series filmed in Belfast in 2000), Four not Five (a short film produced in London 2001).

David made a career move into PR with Handle Communications in late 2006. David is a major support to us and helps us with email distribution of media releases and the follow up of media. His experience in dealing with the public in the hospitality industry has proved a valuable skill in PR.



Darren Saffin
darren Darren is extremely qualified in PR and we are very excited to have him on board. He has a Certificate in Public Relations from RMIT and, perhaps more importantly, is also a Dad to 10 month old Zach.

Prior to starting at Handle in 2007, Darren worked at the Melbourne arm of the international public relations consultancy Porter Novelli writing for clients such as Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Gillette, Guide Dogs Victoria, Macedon Ranges Tourism Commission, Sir John Monash Scholarships, Dairy Australia and JJ Boag and Sons.

He has also been Director, Marketing and Communications and President for the Melbourne Junior Chamber of Commerce as well as National Marketing and Circulations Manager for Australian Anthill magazine.



Lou Johns
lou Lou has worked in the advertising & promotions industry for over 22 years. Her experience includes various roles within the advertising, media, marketing, sales promotions and public relations industries.

Most recently, Lou was a Senior Account Manager with Communicado Marketing Communications, a specialist Sales Promotion & PR Consulting firm. Lou worked closely with a variety of clients to strategically plan and execute PR and promotional strategies to successfully promote their products and services.

Lou has two primary school aged children.
